Spring has finally arrived and it brings along with it home remodeling projects. The bathroom and kitchen are usually at the top of the list, especially if you’ve moved into an older home. Remodeling your kitchen and bathroom is the best investment you can make in your house – these spaces are luxurious and important to future buyers. While you begin preparing for your new bathroom or kitchen be sure to consider the top 2016 trending designs.
Cool and calm colors – A more tranquil, less busy bathroom environment is very in this year. Pairing blues or emerald greens with white will achieve a relaxing, yet classy tone. Earthy tones are also on the rise this year, be free to pair your greens and browns with a naturalistic rock or stone above counter sink.
Creative tile patterns – New and interestingly shaped tile patterns are also gaining popularity in 2016. For those of you wanting a relaxing bathroom but with some extra flavor, this idea is for you. There are endless patterns so you’re bound to find something that interests you.
Touches of wood – Pieces of wood throughout your bathroom have been catching fire recently. You don’t want to overdo it, but a wooden cabinet or a wooden vanity will add to the calm and natural feel you want to achieve with your remodel.
No threshold showers – This new trend is on the more modern side. Best for larger bathrooms, this will provide an open, exposed and freeing experience.
Muted tones – Bright and bold colors are out this season so learn to love charcoal, grey, tan and white! White cabinets are becoming very popular and should be pared with earthy, soft colors.
Wood flooring – If your home has natural wood flooring under that tile, it’s time to expose it! The wood flooring will complement the muted tones of your kitchen, but try to stray away from red oak colors.
Storage pull-outs – Not only does this create more storage space, but it’s practical as well. No more getting on your hands and knees to pull out pots and pans, simply pull out the drawer and see all of what you have in store!
Smart appliances – Bound to happen sooner or later, but in 2016 smart appliances will really be taking off. You can expect to see built in coffee makers, motion censored sinks, hidden chargers, smart ovens and much more.
