Mother’s Day in Pittsburgh – 2016

Mother’s Day is steadily approaching and you still might not have an idea of what to get for your mother. Instead of a gift this year, consider taking your mother out for a fun day in Pittsburgh! With endless Mother’s Day events going on in the city over May 8th and 9th, you won’t have a problem finding something special to do with your mom on her special day. Consider one of the fun events below and give your mother a thoughtful day to remember.

Murder Mystery Brunch
This event is perfect for mother’s who love theatre. Enjoy a lovely brunch and entertainment on Sunday May 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Gaetano’s Banquet Center & Restaurant. Tickets are $40.56 which includes tax and gratuity. A cash bar will be available and all mothers will receive a free rose.

Mother’s Day High Tea
Enjoy tea, scones, tea sandwiches, sweets, berry assortments and some Mother’s Day surprises on Sunday May 8 at Arnold’s Tea. There are three tea sessions to choose from: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Adult tickets are $35 and children 12 and under are $18.

Highland Park House Tour
Spend a lovely Saturday afternoon on May 7 touring 12 historical homes in Highland Park. From Mid-Century Modern to Victorian to Craftsman –you’ll love the variety of historical architecture on this self-guided tour from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 the day of the event. A VIP event has been added this year. The cost is $125 which includes a cocktail party on Friday May 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in a historical home that has been restored from an apartment building to its original single family state. The ticket price for the VIP event also includes access to the house tour the following day. All proceeds benefit the Highland Park Community Council and Highland Park.

Mother and Child Luncheon and Fashion Show
For moms who love fashion and follow the latest trends, this event will allow you to share your passion with your children. On Saturday May 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Pacific Avenue you can enjoy lunch, prizes, giveaways, entertainment, vendors and activities for young children. The main event is a fashion show featuring clothes from local designers. The cost is $26.62 for a mom and two children and additional child tickets are $5.00 each.
