Spring is one of the best seasons Pittsburgh has to offer. The trees and flowers are in full bloom and the temperature outside is a perfect happy medium. Get outside this spring and enjoy what this great city of bridges has to offer!
Pittsburgh has a variety of city, waterfront, state and county parks to choose from. You have plenty of places with different scenery to enjoy a peaceful picnic, read a book or play a pickup game of soccer. From Point State Park to Riverview Park, they’re all great locations to enjoy nature this spring.
Eat and drink
Pittsburgh has a number of great restaurants, breweries and wineries that offer awesome outdoor seating areas. For dog lovers looking for an outdoor picnic scene, visit Grist House in Millvale to enjoy a craft beer. The Abbey, formerly a funeral home, has a beautiful outdoor patio right on Butler Street in Lawrenceville where you can enjoy your food, coffee or beer. Worried about the weather? Hit up Sienna Merato downtown for dinner and drinks where they have a glass top that covers their rooftop.
The best way to soak in the city this spring is heading to PNC Park for a Bucs game – don’t forget to bring your glove for a chance to catch some fly balls.
Get moving this spring by joining a kickball or softball league – there are plenty of signups at Pittsburgh Sports League. Use one or all of the three rivers to your advantage – all three are easily accessible to spend the day canoeing, kayaking or paddle boarding.
