Since 1980, Gillece Services has been providing Pittsburgh with quality Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electrical services. Tom Gillece started his flagship business when he was only 20-years old. Years of servicing market segments related to plumbing and heating led Tom to the conclusion that building relationships was at the core of running a successful service business. For Gillece Services, that means relationships with customers, relationships with employees, and relationships with others in the industry and the professional community.
Built on Ambition
Tom Gillece was motivated from an early age by a strong drive and determination to achieve outstanding results with a sense of urgency. When he was still in high school, he began working part-time for a local plumber and set his sights on becoming the youngest Master Plumber in Allegheny County. Attending Plumbing school at night while still in high school, Tom acquired his journeyman plumbing license at the age of 19 and then passed the Master Plumber exam at the age of 20, allowing him to realize his goal of being the youngest person to pass the Master Plumber Exam at that time in Allegheny County.
Built on Compassion
Tom Gillece has personally embarked upon a number of his own philanthropic endeavors. As Vice President and then as President of the Mt. Oliver Chamber of Commerce, he dedicated himself to bringing resources to a traditionally underserved neighborhood. Tom was instrumental in securing several million dollars in funding for community sidewalks and street renovation. He is a long-time financial supporter who has donated a great deal of time and resources to the Friends of Haiti. After the devastating 2010 earthquake, Tom sent a licensed journeyman plumber on a relief mission to the island. He plans to sponsor a similar mission this year to continue this aid program.
